Today, we have a true martial arts legend on the show: Mr. Eric Lee. Born in China, Eric’s martial arts journey began under the influence of his father, who also studied the art. Throughout his career, he has trained with some of the most respected martial artists in the world, including Master Wen Mei Yu, Grandmaster Share K. Lew, James Lee, and former guest of the show, Grandmaster Al Dacascos.
In the early 1970s, Eric earned the title “King of Kata,” securing over 100 world titles between 1970 and 1974, going undefeated in forms and weapons competitions during that period.
Eric’s accomplishments are vast. He is a recipient of the Armed Forces Appreciation Award, has taught Movie Action at UCLA, and has acted in and choreographed fight scenes for over 80 movies and TV productions. Some of his notable work includes appearances in Mod Squad, Good Guys Wear Black, The Greatest American Hero, Airwolf, Big Trouble in Little China, and many more. He also produced and starred in the feature film The Master Demon.
With over 65 years of martial arts experience, Eric continues to be an inspiration in the community. Outside of martial arts, he enjoys acrobatics, swimming, horseback riding, and even singing.
Please welcome my guest today, the incomparable Mr. Eric Lee.
