His entry into the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) came courtesy of his role as a Pepsi/Slice Black belt in a striking advertising campaign.
The turning point in Avedon’s career occurred at a Los Angeles Karate School, where fate intertwined with opportunity. Producer Roy Horan, on the lookout for a replacement for Jean Claude Van Damme in “No Retreat, No Surrender II: Raging Thunder,” discovered Avedon. Triumphing over 75 auditioning actors, he secured his first major break.
