Jimmy was born in Danvers, MA. His father was a 1976 Olympic Alternate.
He wrestled and graduated from Brown Univ with a degree in Business Economics and
Organizational Behavior & Management.
He was a World champion and competed for the US 4 times as an Olympian and won Bronze twice.
After retiring from competition after the 2004 Olympics he returned in 2012 to Coach the U.S.
Olympic Team in London.
He has coached many notable students including the first person ever to win Judo Gold for the US,
Kayla Harrison.
He owns and operates Fujimats.com and Fujisports.com
He is also the founder of Pedro’s Judo Center in Wakefield, MA
The movie Fury on The Mat is about his life.
He is married and has 4 children.
